my new favorite pasttime -- he is SOO snuggly. I like taking a nap
with him on my chest. He likes it too, and not just with me. Monique
got up the other night at like 11pm and fell asleep with him on her
chest, only to wake up at like 2am. So soft and fuzzy.

Sage helped get Rohin dressed before we left the hospital -- she had fun with it, and insisted that he wear his new shoes that she picked out for him..

I'm pleased to announce the birth of Rohin Miles Collis. Mom and baby are both healthy and doing great. He was born in Falmouth today (4.2.08) at 2:22 PM, (EST), weighing 9 lbs 6.3 ounces, 21.75 inches long. Based on the color of his eyebrows, looks as though he'll have blonde hair. (photos attached, my hand for perspective)

Notable comments of the day:

Nurse (waking us up this morning, after we (accidentally) slept in): "You guys ready to get started?"

Monique: "Wow, that was a lot easier the second time."

Sage (after being introduced to her brother): "I like girls better."

We should head home from the hospital tomorrow or Friday, Jon

Sage picked a fight with the wrong kid at school today and got a fat lip. Just kidding, she slipped and fell at school and split her lip. Five hours and four stitches later, she's better. She acted a bit drunk when she came out of the anastesia (sp?), which was kinda cute, but she was a trooper throughout. A plastic surgeon did the stitching, so only a small scar we hope.

We took a "Santa train" from Sante Fe to Lamy NM. It was awesome, complete with banjo-harmonica playing cowboys who knew all the words to many a different christmas carol.

sense.

Sage: Guggehiieheha

Monique: Sage, I don't know what that word means.

Sage: It's Spanish.

Sage and her Dad went to the store to get a bunch of ingredients for Monique's birthday the next morning. We were going to cook her a special breakfast. So, we got some coffee beans and had them ground, which Sage always enjoys watching.

Shortly thereafter, Sage asks: "Dad, now that me three, can I drink coffee now"

Jon: "Well honey, it wouldn't really be good for you. It might make you short."

Sage: "Me tall, me not short."

Jon: "Well, coffee isn't good for little girls, but maybe we can try some decaf, which is coffee without the bad stuff."

Sage: "Okay, me drink some dat."

So, I gave her a sip of coffee at breakfast this morning and she said she liked it, but then didn't want any moe.
