dinner has lately been a battle with sage (if she isn't starving). A recent conversation with her and Monique.
Monique: Sage, you need to eat you dinner, otherwise you can't have any desert.
Sage: I Know. What if I put my dinner on top of my pie?
If Sage ever says "I know", you can assume that she this is to be followed by a crazy concocted scheme to avoid dinner and get her desert asap.

three-year olds, geeze
Sage and her Dad went to the store to get a bunch of ingredients for Monique's birthday the next morning. We were going to cook her a special breakfast. So, we got some coffee beans and had them ground, which Sage always enjoys watching.
Shortly thereafter, Sage asks: "Dad, now that me three, can I drink coffee now"
Jon: "Well honey, it wouldn't really be good for you. It might make you short."
Sage: "Me tall, me not short."
Jon: "Well, coffee isn't good for little girls, but maybe we can try some decaf, which is coffee without the bad stuff."
Sage: "Okay, me drink some dat."
So, I gave her a sip of coffee at breakfast this morning and she said she liked it, but then didn't want any moe.

Can I get you something?
Jon is working on the couch on job applications and Monique and Sage are in the kitchen having a snack.
Monique: Jon, would you like a glass of water.
Jon: No thank you.
Sage: Dad, would you like a cup of coffee?
Jon: Sure!
Sage: Well then, get up and come in here and get one.

Six days
Jon: Sage, Grandma is coming to visit in six days.
Sage: That's a long time. Is she on her way now?
Jon: No not yet. She isn't coming until Tuesday.
Sage: She's coming in two days!
Jon: No, TUESDAY.
Sage: Two days?
She then proceeded to hold up two of her fingers and say "See, two, two".
